The formal innovations that defined prose in this period and the thematic preoccupations of major novelists in the modern world. Selected and representative works of such writers as Conrad, Stein, Joyce, Faulkner, Dos Passos and Lawrence. Prerequisite(s): Two 2000-level courses (6.0 credit hours) in English
